PHONE CALL SCRIPT FOR MEMBERS OF THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES and FOR MEMBERS OF THE U.S. SENATE:

Version 1:

“Hello, my name is ____;

I am a Belarusian-American constituent. I am calling to voice my deep concern about the war in Ukraine and to ask that you facilitate the Belarusian-American community’s request to derecognize Alyaksandr Lukashenka as a president of Belarus following the rigged 2020 election and, at the same time to recognize Belarus as an occupied country, because Lukashenka is an unelected usurper who is currently hosting the military of the terrorist state of Russia on Belarusian land without a mandate from the Belarusian people. We need your help urgently, and the two previously mentioned moves will make a big impact in the fight for democracy within the larger context of the war in Ukraine.

Thank you."

Version 2:

“Hello, my name is ____;

I am a Belarusian-American constituent. I am calling to voice my deep concern about the war in Ukraine and to ask that you facilitate the Belarusian community’s request to derecognize Alyaksandr Lukashenka as a president of Belarus. Lukashenka usurped the power following the rigged 2020 election, unleashed brutal repressions against the Belarusian people, hijacked an international airliner, and manufactured a migrant crisis on the border of many Eastern European countries. He has since allowed the military of the terrorist state of Russia to be hosted on Belarusian land without a mandate from the Belarusian people and lost any remaining control over Belarus foreign policy, yielding to Kremlin. We need your help urgently to recognize Belarus as an occupied country. The two previously mentioned moves will greatly impact the fight for democracy within the larger context of the war in Ukraine.

Thank you."
