Address in Honor of the 80th Anniversary of the Polish American Congress

On behalf of Belarusian Americans, we, the Belarus Freedom Forum, express our admiration and congratulate the Polish American Congress on its remarkable achievement of 80 years of leadership and active work in support of the Polish American community and for the freedom, democracy, and national interests of Poland.

In 80 years, Poland has transformed into a free, sovereign, democratic, prosperous, and dynamically developing country. Today, Poland is a member of the European Union and NATO, no doubt with the contribution of the Polish American Congress.

Today, while Russia is flexing its imperial ambitions, invading independent Ukraine and killing Ukrainian people, establishing its control on Belarus through the ruthless dictator and usurper of power Lukashenka, supporting authoritarian powers around the world, spreading lies and disinformation, waging war against democracy and threatening Baltic countries, Poland and other countries of Central Europe, Poland has taken a leadership role in fighting against this evil, supporting Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, and giving refuge to hundreds of thousands of Belarusians who fled political persecution by the Lukashenka regime in Belarus.

The Polish American Congress became a voice for Ukrainian and Belarusian people in the United States, contributing time and energy and mobilizing resources for humanitarian help for Ukraine. Belarusian Americans are thankful to the Polish American Congress for believing in the aspiration of the Belarusian people and for advocating for a free, sovereign, and democratic Belarus that one day will contribute to the peace and prosperity of Europe.

The outstanding achievements of the Polish American Congress over 80 years of consistent work are the foundation for future development and success.

We also thank the President of the Polish American Congress, Mr. Frank Spula, for supporting the Belarusian cause.
